Off grid setup. Tips and recommendations etc

So I’m looking at an off grid setup. I started looking at UPS backup due to the amount of power outages we have but decided that it was just way to inefficient.

Now, I’m keen to start looking at the off grid setups as prices don’t seem to be too bad, we have power available so may not need banks that are too big.

Also, is it best to cycle these LifePO4 packs to increase life span? Do they require cycling every so often to maintain health.

I’m after recommendations for the best HA compatible solar controllers and solar inverters, preferably LifePO4 - also I’m assuming this is the best battery technology available to date?

Also, can I use any run of the mill solar panels for charging these LifePO4 packs? I’s assuming so.

Any other tips, tricks and need to knows etc are greatly appreciated.

Battery technology is a personal choice based on use case / availability / temps. etc. and largely independent of power management/delivery controllers.

Majority of commercial gear runs modbus and/or wifi bridging of this. Have you decided if it will be wired or wireless? Are you happy/comfortable with modbus/rs485 or prefer other protocol?

Suggest spending 3 or so hours watching some online video tutorials on off grid setups to grow your knowledge base before narrowing down the digital side. Likely cost will be the determining factor.
