I was worried that you would find something like this sadly. In the event that was the case I looked into an alternative as a proof of concept just in case.
I purchased a 4 button Zigbee wireless remote with a magnet plate that lets it sit on the wall next to the HTD Lync keypad.
The 4 buttons each have 3 actions that can trigger something:
- Single Press
- Double Press
- Hold
So I created some automation around this:
Button 1 - Single Press - Toggle Play / Pause Music
Button 2 - Single Press - Next Track
Button 2 - Double Press - Previous Track
Button 3 - Single Press - Volume Up
Button 3 - Double Press - Volume 100%
Button 4 - Single Press - Volume Down
Button 4 - Double Press - Volume 20%
Here is what I bought. I was waiting to hear back from you before I invest in more of these. I guess I will buy one for every location I have an HTD keypad. Not the most elegant solution and in my opinion, this is a miss on HTD’s part. It would have been trivial for them to throw in some buttons that could be mapped as the user sees fit once the keypad is installed.
