ONVIF devices: how to monitor offline devices?

I have 3 cameras that are integrated into HA with ONVIF integration. I would like to get notifications when any of them are offline. I have tried using the states of the entities as triggers or conditions. Unfortunately, none of the entities of the cameras ever go to unavailable state nor unknown states when I unplugged them. Even while the video streams are lost, the states are still “idle”. I assume the actual device does not matter as it should be the responsibility of ONVIF to report error states. But the CCTV are AMCREST cameras flashed as Dahua cameras.

Could somebody give me a pointer on how to configure it?
