Still trying to get Hikvision cameras into HA with no luck.
Tried Onvif and got this message. checking the logs i cannot see anything to do with Onvif
I was unsure if I needed ffmpeg: so i added this but it did not help
from the error it looks like there’s most likely an issue on the camera side. onvif is off by default on hikvisions i believe. are you sure it’s on and working ok? one thing to do to verify is to grab an onvif app like tinycam, and see if it connects. if you do that, make sure you choose onvif from tinycam to force it to onvif mode, don’t choose hikvision.
I have turned it on.
Whether there’s something else to do I’m not sure. I’ll try an app like you suggest and report back.
ok so i downloaded IPCams for mac. entered 192.168.1.152 into the app and it could not connect.
I have lots of questions.
firstly, when i connect to my Hikvision system its on that IP address as per photo

I know this must be me, but i cannot work out what the problem is.
