OPENEVSE integration, total Rookie needs help

Hello, i am desperately trying to tie in OPENEVSE into my Home Assistant.
I am relying on this mqtt based suite contributed by Mathieu Carbou https://gist.github.com/mathieucarbou/92a3d5e0dc38d6b68aa1bdaf153a80c5

I followed the instructions on github to my best knowledge but i am unable to get this thing going.
As far as i can tell i have several issues with the openevse_integration.yaml and …mqtt.yaml files:

I have no idea where to even start here, any help pointing me in the right direction would be highly appreciated.

the files are the ones hosted on Github, unmodified.
I am sure i made mistakes integrating this to my HA.
