Having just got a new Razer laptop and moved it over to Linux, I’ve been wondering if there was a way to automate the keyboard LEDs with HA. I couldn’t find one, so I created openrazer-ha.
As long as you have openrazer installed and working, openrazer-ha will expose your device over MQTT (tested on my laptop only but should theoretically work with any keyboard) to HA and let you control colour, brightness, and patterns. I’ve set mine in an automation to turn the keyboard red when my microphone is on, for example, but you could also briefly send a pulse across the keyboard as a notification light for something, or use the colours as a weather forecast. Or much more I’m sure.
