Options to store long term data in an integration?

I’m currently thinking of creating a simple task (on intervals) reminder integration which I can hook my automation’s on which will notify me. The integration would be a sensor + service. The task apps/integrations I have found out there does not fit my need to 100% so I thought, why not create one.

Some of the tasks I want have an interval of several months (e.g. clean computer) and I need to store the date of the last task execution. Is there a way to store this information from inside an integration? I don’t want to risk a retention policy deletes my data.

What is the best practice here? What options do I have? I cannot find any information regarding this and from what I can read, the recorder has a retention policy which I would like to keep for other sensors and stuff.

If you store the dates in an input_datetime they would be held indefinitely. They would be editable outside your integration though.

Alright thanks. I did not think of that. Not the solution I was looking for but I guess it will work if nothing else exist.

Problem is, I have to create one for each task which can get cumbersome if you have a few.
