I’ve built a little box to replace my pool’s Intermatic timer.
Works great so far. 24v transformer, contactor, a Shelly 1 gen 4 on automation schedule.
What I don’t like is this cheesy plastic box I bought on Amazon. Especially the plastic grid backplate that came with it. Plastic gets brittle over time and the heat of the components will only accelerate that.
I’m looking for a weathertight outdoor box about the size of an Intermatic timer that’s a little more robust.
Any suggestions?

Or, if the old timer was the type with a metal box?
Then just gut the box and fit your project in it.
Nema enclosure is pretty much what is used for pool equipment and sprinkler controls.
Have several and no issue.
Brittle: didn’t break. Nema enclosure are robust frp and poly plastic. Can take a decent beating but some Amazon stuff is cheap quality.ABS for indoor
Metal's gonna block the WiFi signal on the Shelly, especially if it's outside where the signal isn't great to start with.
