Got delivery of this switch yesterday and installed it, was expecting it to be another TS0011 as its the same design as the original selling list but looks like this model is able to act as a router device with just a live and switched live connected to it where as the TS0011 was a pure end device only.
Ability to control it is now implemented thanks to brofeelgood, just needs clean up and folks to add it for out of box for now if anyone wants to use it just disable the unused entities.
edit: single gang version shared in thread linked above that removes redundant entities. Also fixed thread title and linked the specific switch this applies to for anyone that has it or is looking into it.
I’m doing a reno and would like to make as many circuits smart, so was looking that the 6-way version of the switch. Can you point me at how the HA integration works? I really don’t want to have stuff that is reliable on servers in china to work!
Zigbee, Zwave and most matter/thread devices don’t rely on anything but having the right quirk and you coordinator to work.
The Tuya Wifi or if they have a specific app they need for configuration then they call back to servers.
You can if you want get matter, zigbee or zwave based relays to place behind swtiches that you like the design of.
In the case of the 6 gang switch the single switch quirk would just need to have the other 5 switches on it added to function and since I only have the single gang version at this time someone else may need to help you with it to make sure its working.
When it comes to adding it to HA you just put it into pairing mode by pressing it on and off 5 times then pressing it for 5 seconds until it starts to flash and it will be seen via the add device option in ZHA.
