Reload now works with packages.
Am I right in thinking that if you use packages you have to restart HA to load changes?
For example if you change a group in a package you cannot simply Reload Groups to see the effect?

is there a plan to support reload of packages? Should not be that hard to do and would be so helpful!

The answer has changed automations, scripts, etc are all reloaded from packages as well now. The note that it does not work is no longer on the packages page. Also, Franck Nijhof said on his YAML basics with DrZzs that it works.
I am posting here because the answer changed and it is what pops up when looking up this topic.
