Pellet Stover Hopper monitor?

Has anyone found a cool way to monitor the pellet level in the hopper of a pellet stove? I would love to have some sort of wireless proximity sensor I could mount inside the lid of the hopper that I could tie into HA. Thinking battery operated as I want to keep my clean look of the stove.

What brand?

Brand of Stove? Quadra-Fire CB1200-i… I can control everything about heating cycles/schedules already via the Ecobee3 Lite stat I attached to it. I just want to know when the hopper is low… I know I know, check it in the morning and at a night… but sometimes, life gets busy and I forget… Plus, it would be cool to automate.

Hello Brewder,

An ultrasonic distance sensor should be able to do that. The kind people make with espHome for tank liquid levels.
