Has anyone played with the Phare Labs C1 smoke alarm?
It looks like a great replacement for my Nest smoke alarms, the hiccup is they seem to want to charge £7.99 a month for API access.
I wondered if it was possible to get data from the smoke alarms directly?
Going to keep an eye on this, but unless they offer matter integration (no subscription) I’ll hold off for something else

There’s more on the way, too — Matter integration is coming in winter 2026. And if Phare is missing a feature you’d love, let us know. We read every support email, and we turn them into features more often than not.
I like these, the best I’ve seen so far to replace my now aged out Nest Protects. But it seems as if I’ve got to create yet another account for some cloud product. And from what I’ve seen, the API is only good for the subscription. I despise subscriptions 
I really wish the Ubiquiti smoke alarms were a bit better (voice announcements without the need for the AI speaker).
I’ve two of these smoke heads installed. I’ve spoken to Phare and they assure me that Matter integration is coming. Has anyone started work on integrating using the API.
Really like the product, definitely recommend it as replacement for wired connected uk smoke alarms.
