Ordered a few Philips Hue bulbs and they went in smoothly using ZigBee and then I came to the last box: A pair of Hue 922-655 bulbs and it turns out they are "Wiz" bulbs and they do no support ZigBee. I've had no need for Matter but they support Matter so why not?
Turns out the "Why not" is they have to be added to the main LAN's wifi which for security I will not add any IOT devices to. Plus it isn't possible because network security requires that the MAC address has to be added to the "allow" list before any connection attempt and there is no way to get the MAC before trying to pair.
So... Is there any way to make them connect using ZigBee (already pretty certain the answer is No) or is there anyone interested in trading 2 RGB Hue ZigBee bulbs for these 2 Matter bulbs?
(Pretty certain this is silly because I suspect postage makes this unreasonable.)
