Philips Hue - but I want it via the Cloud

Hi,

I know we are all focused on a HA-setup that does not rely on the cloud. So do I.

But I have a second home nearby, with various Hue lights. I want to control it through my HA server.

I don’t want to install/operate a second HA instance for this. It’s too much overhead. I also don’t want to have a dedicated VPN tunnel.

The only way to setup my Hue-integration is to specify the IP address of the Hue bridge. But I have a Hue Cloud-account. Should that not be sufficient?

No, because that IP is internal to that other network. You have no way of reaching it without VPN.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. Too bad it can’t be done via the Cloud.

It’s the “no VPN” that stops you. A SLZB-06 with the internal Wireguard VPN would solve this easily.

This is something I was looking for too for the same reason. I’m surprised there’s no addon available using the Hue developer API,
