Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor (SML004) sensitivity

Hi,

I have a Philips Hue Outdoor Motion Sensor (SML004). Sensitivity is set to lowest and still, the sensor detects every small movement. See photograph, where the camera is 10 cm above the sensor. If a car drives by on the road ( > 10 meters away) they are triggering the sensor.

Anyone has an idea to set this even lower? Is this normal behaviour that even when the sensitivity is set to lowest the detection is still…too good?

Sensor is connected directly with Zigbee

Joost,

With a ZHA connection, I see 5 levels of sensitivity. If the lowest is not enough for your needs:

  • Try lowering the position of the sensor, so it only picks up activity (walking?) when 1/2 way into the driveway. Or tilt it to face lower.
  • Set the sensor on the side of the driveway (on bldg. to left of view, on a tree, or even a short post on the drive side car (I presume the ivy tree to the right is not on your property).
  • Set the automation to delay activation (wait for amount of activity within a set time period).

Any combination of those suggestions, or exaggerations of such suggestions, may be found to be necessary.
