Phillips hue sensor temperature & home assistant not working

Hi all

I noticed that the Phillips hue sensor temperature is not working in home assistant V2026.4 and its not been reported in the dashboard and has a !.

can anyone tell me how to get this to work as i have check Phillips hue and all devices are on the latest software. I am using the hue bridge V2 the white one not the black.

all other sensors are working withing home assistant and it states when you click the temp

This entity is no longer being provided by the hue integration. If the entity is no longer in use, delete it in settings.

any help thanks

Works fine for me with motion sensors. Got update this week for all my sensors. Not using the Hue bridge anymore though.

Well it’s not working for me with the hue bridge

Any ideas anyone Before I replace these as the Phillips hue motion sensors just don’t work to well with home assistant anymore.

I believe your device may have developed a hardware problem.

I am running 2026.4.1 and have two Philips Hue Motion Sensors connected via the Philips Hue integration. Both of them report temperature regularly.

NOTE

Before replacing it, go to the motion sensor’s Device page and double-check that its temperature sensor is not disabled. It’s unlikely you accidentally disabled it but it’s still worth the few seconds to check it.

I figured it out. When i first started using home assistant i was finding some odd things happening with my automations because of the Hue app was overriding the home assistant automations with its own. so what i did was disable the sensors within the hue app and worked no problem with the luminance and motion as these still worked in home assistant but for some reason it stops the temp setting from working. strange that 2 out of 3 inbuilt sensors works when you disable it in the hue app.

I re enabled the sensor in the hue app and the temp now works, but what i had to do is to stop any hue interference with home assistant instead of disabling the sensor in the hue app i keep it enabled but I disabled all the light routines withing the hue app for that sensors so basically it now does nothing at all in the hue app and that it does not override the home assistant ones.

never thought it would stop the temp sensor from working when it still lets you use the lux and motion sensor when its disabled in the hue app, if it had disabled all sensors this would of jumped right out at me and would of realised straight away why.

lessened learned.

cheers for anyone who tried to help though. this might help others in the future if they think they can just disable the sensor in the hue app.

I suggest you report this behavior as a bug in Home Assistant’s Github Core repository.

I believe the maintainer of the Philips Hue integration would like to know about how the integration handles sensors that are disabled in the Hue app.

Not a member of GitHub as looked on the site and need to register to report.

Also what I noticed is if you have a lights routine using the motion sensor and have the sensor disabled in hue app it still runs the routine. I guess this is a hue bug as it should not do anything if disabled. Reason I had to put do nothing in the motion sensors just to stop it overriding the home assistant automations.

Correct. There’s no charge to join and you need an account to report problems and/or comment on problems reported by others. The development team doesn’t monitor this forum for software issues; they must be reported in Github.

I believe it is governed by the Philips Hue integration. Specifically, how the integration’s maintainer decided to handle disabled sensors.

That’s why I recommend you report it (in Github) so the maintainer is notified that disabled sensors (disabled within the Hue app) don’t appear to be handled uniformly (some disabled sensors are imported while others are not).
