Pi / HA based Zoned Thermostat System

Hi All,

I setup a small dual pi system running HA for testing some of kit we are installing in our new house. I was happy with what I had achieved and decided to install loads of cables around the house for automation. I am now living on a building site, caked in dust so I don’t have any of my pi stuff setup. I will have lots of DHT22’s installed in my house, I want to use a software thermostat ran by HA to control Zoned heating via relays.

What is possible with the Generic Thermostat in terms of user adjustment. I searched the forum and saw people talking about sliders and some are requesting buttons. However looking at screenshots of peoples user interface’s I can only see a temp read out. I was happy having everything in the config YAML, but my wifes pointed out that she cant change anything in the config file and that i need to have it setup so she can alter the required temp in each room/zone. So what will the generic thermostat look like? and how can the desired temperature be altered within HA. Sorry to be a pain, like I said masses of dust everywhere. My laptop vents get vacuumed daily so I cant test the generic thermostat myself.

Also is there anyway of having a 7 day programmer within the user interface.

Many thanks
