Pi vs mac?

Curious if moving my ha / dashboard implementations from two pis to a Mac mini would be any improvement? Has anyone tried this?

I don’t have really any issues, sometimes my dashboard can take a little longer than I’d like to respond but that’s only occasional.

What I do have is a Mac mini not really doing much and if I can increase the speed of the dashboards I would be happy.

I’ve just gone the other way

I found the dashboard to be no more responsive, the only really noticeable difference was when restarting HA it would be back up and running in a few seconds.

My reason for swapping was I kept running up against a lack of support when trying to do anything beyond the basics whereas you’re usually overrun with people who’ve been there done that on a Pi and they are different enough that someone with no understanding of linux like myself spent a lot of time going round in circles trying to fix what were probably quite simple things.

I run HA on a mac mini, only because it was readily available. It runs like a champ. I have no issues.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback. Think Ill setup an exact copy of what I have going this weekend on my mac and do some comparasons. Really just want my dashboards to be 100% no delay and reliable. What are your dashboards on? Ive been testing on an ipad pro. Im either going to pick up 2-3 ipad airs to put in the wall or a few of the amazon fire hd 10 inch. I like the fire because I can do the wake on motion and thats big.
