Pi Yellow no longer supplying power over USB-A

Hi,

  • Core2025.2.5
  • Supervisor2025.02.4
  • Operating System14.2
  • Frontend20250221.0

Since yesterday noon, my HA Yellow is no longer supplying power to devices connected over USB. Anyone ever saw this?

I had a HomeWizard water meter connected to it and it no longer turned on.
Checked and it turns on if I connect it to a USB power adapter.
The yellow still works fine for the rest.

Thinking you can power anything on a RPi/HA Green/Yellow is a wrong assumption.

These devices have a notorious poor power design where the power input circuit can just barely power the internal parts of the device.
This is the reason why you nearly always see the advice to use a powered USB hub when troubleshooting is done in these devices.
