Picture Elements Card doesn't show webcam image

Since 2022.11.1 (currently running 2022.11.4) it looks like my picture element card doesn’t show my camera image anymore. It worked before. I don’t get any error message and my entities are available. Any ideas what could be wrong?

type: picture-elements
elements:
  - type: image
    camera_image: camera.cam_1_sd
    style:
      top: 48.8%
      left: 49.5%
      transform: translate(-50%, -50%) scale(0.20,0.20)
    tap_action:
      action: navigate
      navigation_path: /lovelace/cams
    hold_action:
      action: none
    double_tap_action:
      action: none
  - type: image
    camera_image: camera.cam_2_sd
    style:
      top: 75%
      left: 51%
      transform: translate(-50%, -50%) scale(0.60,0.60)
    tap_action:
      action: navigate
      navigation_path: /lovelace/cams
    hold_action:
      action: none
    double_tap_action:
      action: none

I didn’t change anything: transformation and location (top+left) stayed the same since months (but I tried tinkering around with this a little bit, to see, if it is suddenly out of screen or something, but it didn’t show up anyhow). Also I couldn’t find any breaking changes.

Any Ideas what’s wrong?

PS. any screenshots are worthless, because it just don’t show up. No Frames, no graphic pieces… just the white blank space of the element-card-background.

Thanks and Regards,
Jens

@jesc Have you found a solution yet? My picture elements card abruptly stoped displaying custom images recently. Not sure if it’s related but Im on 11.4 as well. All device icons still display as intended, just custom images do not display. I’ve add the path to the icon folder into my config file under ‘allowlist_external_dirs’ but still no change. Anyone have a suggestion?

No, sorry, not found any solution yet. And it’s bugging me.

Picture Elements card seems totally broken in the last few updates

State images don’t work either

In another thread I fond an answer to my initial problem with images not displaying picture element cards. Simply add the following line to your style section: width: 5% (or whatever number suits your need. See my updated code below. Hopefully this will help others who have had the same issue.

  - type: image
    entity: media_player.kitchen
    tap_action:
      action: navigate
      navigation_path: /lovelace-main/main-music
    image: /local/mdi_icons/volume-low.png
    state_image:
      playing: /local/mdi_icons/volume-high.png
      paused: /local/mdi_icons/volume-low.png
    state_filter:
      playing: opacity(100%)
      paused: opacity(50%)
    style:
      top: 37.5%
      left: 5%
      transform: rotate(45deg)
      width: 5%

I’m speechless. This really did it (at least in my case)… WTF?

Thank you!

Regards,
Jens
