I’d like to bump this up. There’s a lot of interest in having a configurable refresh rate — instead of the default 10 seconds, being able to set it to 2, 3, or 5 seconds, for example. Just because someone declined this in the past, in year 2020, due to a potential ‘system overload’ doesn’t mean the idea should be buried. Some already suggested to add a warning. Let users decide what to do with their own system.

There’s already an explanation above about why Live mode isn’t a good enough alternative. It takes 5–10 seconds, or even longer, to re-establish an RTSP live camera stream. If I receive a motion notification and want to display a conditional picture card, Live mode just isn’t fast enough.
How can we get someone from the Home Assistant team to look into it? The whole ‘Feature Request’ process has become too complicated for people who aren’t very technical (or aren’t GitHub users). I’m afraid this isn’t good for HA’s broader adoption.
