Play to AVR

I have a Sony AVR (STR-DN1060) and would like to play media (eg. from the Radio Browser Integration) to the Sony AVR.
In Media, I can only play to the Web-Browser or to KODI - but not to the media_player entities I have available in HA (Sony AVR, Sony Songpal, TV).

What am I missing?
Sorry, am still very new to HA and very likely lack some basics.

Just click on the play icon on the media card for the media player.

That’s the problem my ‘media-players’ don’t show a play-icon.
(only the Kodi-media_player shows it)

Hi @TieMichael . The problem you’re seeing is that the AVR is really a receiver rather than a media player. The integration is for it as a receiver (volume, sources, power etc.) rather than as a player itself. There’s no type in HA for receiver, but you can specify a media_player having a type of receiver, which we do here.

Having said that, the Sony’s do support DLNA. So, you should be able to add the Sony using the DLNA integration in HA and then play to it if you select the network player as the source. Mine just showed up in the DLNA integration automatically once I’d setup the network player as per the Sony docs.

I figuered it out , and use Airplay as some file formats on a Home Network server: m4a, flac, wav … are not supported (as also stated in the Sony Usermanual)
