Please help me flash this generic ZigBee dongle

Hi HA Forum,

I have been trying to get this dongle flashed as I’m having weird issues with ZigBee pairing one device, tried to create new ZigBee networks, re-did ZHA config and no go. I got two of these dongles thought it would be easy to update one and setup in HA as coordinator and setup one as a router but I’m not having any luck. I tried to get into bootloader using the following methods:

  1. Insert while holding K2, then release
  2. Insert while holding K2, then press RST, release K2.
  3. Insert while holding K1, then release.
  4. Insert while holding K1, then press RST, release K1.

Tried https://mt.xyzroe.cc/ it can read just FW OR all the other info Model, Flash, IEEE but not Firmware based on the buttons I press when inserting the dongle.

When trying to write new firmware fails on “Flash error: CCTOOLS: timeout waiting for ACK/NACK”

Downgraded my Silicon Labs driver from 11.5 to 6.7 as older version is more stable with Sonoff dongles. Still no luck, any help would be much appreciated.

Chips:
Silicone Labs - CP2120 USB to UART
Ti - CC2652

No print out on back of the PCB board, this is the only info I have:

It was purchased from Amazon as a generic Zigbee dongle.

I did read some of the reviews as people were able to flash it but I’m not having any luck. I tried to flash it directly from HA as well using ZigStar flasher and XZG MultiTool, no go :frowning:

Any pointer or help will be much appreciated, I’m past the return window. At this point I’m about to scrap it and buy a Sonoff dongle or anything you would recommend.

EDIT: Did some more research it seems to be a knock off from the AvattoSmart GW70-Ti dongle, I tried their flasher without luck as well. https://dongle.avattosmart.com/

Cheers,
J

Try the other flashers mentioned here, but if it doesn’t work, scrap it.

Life’s too short to be dealing with a clone of a dongle that isn’t all that great in the first place. Pick one of the supported adapters for whichever zigbee integration you’re going to use & move on.
