Please help this newbie (I’ve just started learning and using HA since November and don’t have a lot of networking expertise so please be gentle :P). I am running HA 2025.11.3 in a docker container on my QNAP NAS. My Plex server is on a desktop within the same network in my home. I think I have it all configured properly as my Plex Media Player shows the controls and movie posters on my dashboard when my Plex server is playing a movie to my home theatre in the basement. However, when I’m not playing anything, it would sometimes (without any reason I can find) go from “Idle” to “Unavailable”.
What does “This entity is longer being provided by the Plex Integration…” mean? I still have full control of my Plex server from my nVidia Shield and when I play a movie, this goes away. I’ve been trying to search online for this problem but I can’t seem to find any answers - the threads just kind of end without a solution;
Where this problem is most apparent for me is the whole reason I started learning about HA was to get my new Unfolded Circle Remote 3 working with controlling my home theatre. When I added the HA Plex integration to my Remote 3 - all worked well for the first 2 months, then all of a sudden, I get this “Some devices are not ready… plex… proceed anyways” error message. When I hit proceed, all works as intended. I don’t know what has changed, but this was the reason I started looking into it and found out that the Plex Server wasn’t always available.
I’m not sure where to go for help now. Just getting it all to work was about to max out my abilties, now this problem is quite out of my depth. Thanks for your time.
I believe this is normal (it certainly is in my case). It’s reporting the state of the player (not the Plex server) and if it’s not on/actively interacting with Plex it goes unavailable.
