I have added the Plugwise plugin to HA to read sensors from my Plugwise Anna and CV through OpenTherm. It works flawlessly, but.
I am experiencing a weird issue. The plugin exposes a switch “DHW Comfort Mode” which you can set. I have this off by default, cause I don’t want extra gas costs.
But the last 2-3 weeks I noticed the value was set to on for unknown reasons. I could not understand why since I don’t use the switch anywhere.
So I setup an automation to notify me when goes to on. This way I hoped I could figure out how it happens. Throughout the day it gets set to On but without any pattern or trigger.
This should not happen! But why. I this a bug? Or is there someway I can figure out what triggers it?
This happens since I added the plugin. So it has to be the plugin. It never happened before I connected HA to my Calenta CV through OpenTherm.
There are no things as “Plugins” in Home Assistant.
Did you mean Plugwise - Home Assistant INTEGRATION ?
I Dont know why you made an automation to inform you, since you can easily see in History when something changes.
Also:
You can view in history sometimes why the device has been triggered.
At this point there could be too many things that might be involved/that cause the switch “DHW Comfort Mode”:
Do you maybe have a app Installed that alters the state? Maybe something like a schedule? Because that might parallelly mess with your device.
Since you dont use that entity you can disable it so you wont have an issue with it. With this you can make sure if HA or something else is turning that on.
Then i would check in my App (or whatever GUI you have) if that switch/mode turns on on its own. To cross out the source/culprit.
What does History say? Does it maybe become unavailable or so? Do your devices maybe power-cyle and in that case it restores to “on” on default maybe?
@cbrunk82 The Plugwise integration just reads the status of the DHW Comfort Mode from the webserver in the Smile T (the white square) box the Anna is connected to. But anyway please have a look at the history of the Switch as @The-May suggests.
