Today around 11:46PM I got a warning of memory usage over 90% on my HAOS virtual machine. Then I found that VSCode webUI is very unresponsive. The UI problem went away after refreshing the page, and suddenly the memory usage drop from 90% to 50%.
The log of VSCode also indicate a restart happened on 11:46. I’m not sure if VSCode is the culprit, or if it’s the victim of OOM(our of memory) situation. Is there a good way to debug this possible memory leak issue?
It is. There have been multiple posts & threads in this forum mentioning this oom issue with VSCode for quite a while.
I assume there’s also issues raised on the addon GitHub, but haven’t checked.
Best thing to do for now is to remember to switch off the addon once you’re done using it.
