Power Monitoring Sockets (To turn lights on when TV is on)

What i want to do is to be able to use the powering on of my TV as a trigger to turn on some lights. Turn them off again when the TV is off.

Are there any sockets you can buy in the UK that do power monitoring to allow this?

Are there any other alternatives people know of?

first of all , is a smart tv? your lights are smart?

if not you can get a power meter like a sonoff s31 ( no lite) and a few cheap smart smart socket

I would go with certified european product that works out of the box without flashing/tinkering.
Little bit pricey though.

I have numerous smart plugs (2.4Ghz Wifi power monitoring smartlife smart plugs) from amazon that work with HA. They exist under numerous brands.

I have had no issues with them at all but I would also second the Shelly stuff!

Thanks all. Will take a look at that plug ins.

Is there nothing integrated into the sockets thats available on the market?

This one (but EU version) can do this by itself: Deltaco German Mains Plug, 13A, Plug-In, 240 V Ac | SH-P02E | ET23130839 | Enrgtech LTD
I have used this for many years and it can be set up to turn on or off a port based on the power consumption on the device (Power is measured for the device, not for each outlet). I could do what you ask without integration to Home Assistant. If you can find a UK version - or use adapters.

If you want a smart UK type socket that is discussed here: UK Sockets with Power Monitoring

There’s also the hdmi cec method for that
