Presence Detection Fritz Box and Iphone / iPad

Hello,

My presence Detection with Fritz Box does not recognize my iOS devices. All other devices like PC and even milight bridge is being discovered but no iOS Device.

Does anybody has the same issue ?

same issue here in my configuration even a little bit more strange.
The module detects any client in my network for example laptops, smarttv, powerlineadapters, IpadAir2, Iphone6 but not the iPhone5 of my wife.

I tried to set the logger level of the module to debug but i only get info messages regarding the module starts scanning:
hass[8538]: INFO:homeassistant.components.device_tracker.fritz:Scanning

Any Ideas ?

hi @sssushi

found a possible reason: homeassistant uses module fritzconnection.
in the github page of fritzconnection i found a bug. it seams that some fritz box models returns maximum 16 hosts of the network to fritzconnection.

to test this i deleted some “unused” devices from http://fritz.box/net/network_user_devices.lua and suddenly some of the missed hosts appeared in homeassistant.
my known_devices.yaml lists always only 16 devices but in the fritz menu i find more than 20 devices.

Could you confirm that ?

I played a little bit around with this Idea but no success yet… But it could be a reason because I have a bunch of devices in my network.

OK deleted all unused Devices… Guess what… Ipad pops up. This seems to solve the Problem.
