I recently added the MacOS Home Assistant app. Unfortunately it adds the Mac as a tracking device for me, which confuses the home/away detection since it is always home. I’ve tried unsuccessfully to disable location services for the app, but it still keeps re-inserting the mac as a tracking device for me. How can I disable this feature and still use the app?
I have - repeatedly. Opening the app re-inserts it. That’s the issue.

And under 'devices > ‘name of your Mac’s > (click on it) > pencil to edit the device > disable this device’
Does that work? Or do you still want to see the device, just not track it.

I’m OK not seeing it. Disabled the device, removed it from my user device list, shutdown and re-started the app. Now I get “device_tracker.moran - Unknown entity selected” added to my tracker device list…?? (moran is the Mac’s name)
that seems to indicate something is trying to track it. Device tracker - Home Assistant
Did you configure something?
This is the expected behavior when you enable “Allow Login” for the Person.
Your options are to either disable that feature or create a separate user for your static devices.
