Presence Sensors - having a hard time

I got a couple of these presence sensors and seem to be having quite a hard time getting accurate readings.

HLK-LD2410C

Has anyone managed to get good results with these sensors? Are they worth trying to get dialed in? Good range etc?

Or am I just better off getting something like Aqara thats ready to go.

These certainly aren’t plug-and-play, but if you configure them correctly (I use the HLKRadarTool app) they can work reliably, or at least they have for me.

I had put together a card based on Plotly Graphs that shows the charts similar to the HLK app: [LD2410-Energy-Charts1] The aim is to keep the Threshold line above the Energy line when no detection is desired so you will need to walk around and monitor how the Energy line moves and adjust the thresholds according when you are not present to ensure it detects you but not the ambient energy levels in the room that your LD2410 is picking up.

Works pretty good, depends on the position and if there’s ceiling fan in the room

What kind of range can be expected from this sensor?

I think the official range is about 5m, which seems right.
