Prior to a restart - check for updates

I can't be the only person that applies some updates, hits restart and when it comes back up .... I have more to apply (yes I know I can check myself but......)

As we already have a dialogue that pops up to make sure we mean it when we clicked restart, could we optionally have an option to check for updates.

Can someone move this to "Feature Requests" as I don't seem to be able to pick it as a category!

You should have all the updates available for your version.
Some updates might require the higher version and that will first be active after a restart, which is why some updates first appear after the restart.

Here's the thing, it often happens that once you reboot it goes off to check and voila - new updates.

It's got nothing to with the version of HA - more of the integration/app/Lovelace

Click the 3 dots in the upper right of the settings screen to check updates.
Open your Home Assistant instance and show your settings menu.

No one can 'move' something from here to feature requests.
You have to put it there yourself.

I tried to put it in Feature Requests. It's not an option. The mods can move it. Thanks for reading my original post properly....

I know you can do it yourself - I'm asking if the system can do it when you select restart - so you don't have to restart again. Maybe I wasn't clear :person_shrugging:

Discourse (this software) and github (where feature requests are located) are not even in the same computer and completely different software packages. No one can 'move' it over there.

Feature Requests that you still see here are locked and no longer used for more that a year already.

That is this forum is it not? Maybe it should have a better default description.

I've added my request to Github - thanks for the pointer.

Click on that Feature Requests Category. First thing you will see at the very top is a pinned topic saying that FRs have been moved to GitHub last year.
