Hi! This is the second time this has happened to me… The first time I linked it to deleting a file, but this time I didn’t do anything, and suddenly I can’t access the Home Assistant web interface. It doesn’t connect from the mobile app either. The attached image appears, but the automations still work. The first time I solved it with a clean install and adding a backup (of the first installation), but it seems quite cumbersome having to do the same thing again. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It’s a real pain to be like this, and the IP address is correctly configured on both the router and Home Assistant. I can access the address http://homeassistant.local:4357/ without any problem, but not http://homeassistant.local:8123. If anyone could guide me, I’d appreciate it…
you know “standard first question”: what’s HA’s IP address and can you reach it with it (like http://192.168.x.y:8123) ?
can plug a screen into the computer and see if there’s any errors
that also tell you its IP address
No, I can’t access it through the fixed IP address I’ve been assigned either. It’s really frustrating because I run into problems every time I try to progress in HA…
I have a monitor connected to my Raspberry Pi, and there are no signs of any errors or problems. The IP address is correct, and on the router, it’s the one I’ve assigned as static, outside the DHCP range so it doesn’t change. The first time this happened to me was after deleting the configuration database file. But now I haven’t done anything at all and it’s happening again, so I don’t know the reason.
could be SDCARD stuff ???
Reset your router.
i do and do it nothing…
When I try to restore a backup, I also have problems sometimes… I get the following message: 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble or the backups simply don’t load… could it be the SD?
I would what I did When my HA stop loading way back replace SDCARD problem.
then I went in EBAY got me a HP Elitedesk 800 G2 $100 NZD
over the years have upgrade the mem now has 16 gb and put a 256GB M.2 NVMe in
next is one of those “Google Coral” thing
she has not let me down think last recovery about a 9 months ago and that was me playing in the wrong place LOL
You don’t need the GUI to access the logs if you have one of the ssh add-ons or the samba addon running. So what do the logs say?
Also, have you cleared your browser cache?
It could, of course. Replace it, reinstall HA and see.
Also, as said above, either get a “proper thing” to run HA on (like cheap used mini PC) or at least run HA from SSD on your Pi.
Thanks. I was using an old Pi3 because I’m “testing.” I read that a Pi3 would work for testing, but the truth is, I’m constantly running into problems, and I don’t know if it’s due to the hardware or errors in my configuration/installation. I didn’t want to invest any money until I’d done more testing, but maybe I’ll take the risk of buying a mini PC. Any recommendations for something “basic”? What I need is something that isn’t noisy, since the server is in a studio. I live in an 80m2 apartment on just one floor in a building. My idea is to automate “simple” things. I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks a lot!
Pi3? Auch… Even pi4 is somewhere at limit… i hope you at least have 1GB of RAM, if not there’s your reason for problems…
Even 1GB is eventually on the low side once your HA gets bigger.
There are cheap N100 based mini PC’s out there, i bet you’ll find a quiet one.
That was in the past.
The documentation now state that it is inadequate.
Okay, thanks a lot. I thought the Pi3 would work for basic things, but that might be the problem… I’m going to look for a cheap mini PC to test, as quiet as possible, and I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks a lot for the help.
Thank you
