As I understand it correctely it means that whenever temperature is equal to set temp. it will turn on the relay. Is it right?
If so, why today it didn’t warm:

What you are seeing is normal . In my picture on the right when the room temp is at same temp as set temp or above the switch is off so no orange bits. Only when the temp is below set temp does switch turn on and so just tiny orange bits. In my picture on left the device can’t tell the temp is ok so it reads orange all the time.
The temperature has to be below.
That is 0 degrees.
When it drops below then it will trigger.
That is logic to me, the set temperature is not when the thermostat should heat, that is idle as I see it.
When it goes below that is when it should kick in.
