Problem with homeseer HS-FLS100+ (flood light motion detector)

I just added a HS-FLS100+ to my system and I’m having some issues with it.

  1. I can’t get the motion detector to reliably trigger for HA. It is working because the light comes on with motion.

  2. When I DO get it trigger, it never clears in HA unless I press the button on the back of the unit and refresh the node.

  3. The light will only come on for like 3 seconds and then go back out. The time dial on the back of the unit only changes how fast it can RE-detect motion, not the light on duration. Besides, I really want to be able to trigger the light only with the HA. The documentation for the device says if I set the lux sensor value in HA to 0, the unit will not directly turn the light on and will only send motion information. I have done that, but still not getting the motion info reliably and the light still keeps coming on for like 3 seconds when motion is detected.

Any ideas?

I figured part of it out by going on the homeseer forums. There are quite a few posts there about the same issue and how it isn’t clearly defined in the manual. The “T” on the timer dial on the back of the device does not stand for Timer. It stands for test mode and the minimum setting on the timer dial is actually test mode.

So the light coming on and going off is test mode. I got that fixed but still can’t get the motion binary sensor to function correctly. I have found the that the burglar sensor toggles between a few numeric values, 256, 8 and 0 in my case. And 0 seems to denote motion. I’d still like to get the binary sensor functioning and toggling the way it’s supposed to.

Thanks for the tip. The instructions need to simply point out that test mode locks out some z-wave control when the dials are in this position. Just move the dials away from the far counter-clockwise position a bit and you will be free…

Does the setting of the timer dial effect how long before the Zwave motion cleared notification will be sent?

It seems my motion cleared notfications for 2 different sensors always seem to be exactly 3 minutes after the sensor was triggered. I’d like a shorter interval than that.

Before I get on the ladder again, was wondering if others were able to get a shorter interval?
