I am trying to setup remote access to my Home Assistant. I am running HAOS on a RPi-5. I installed the tailscale add-on, started it and clicked on the ‘Open Web UI’. According to this instructional video: tailscale video it should bring up a re-authentication screen. However, I get a login screen. When I click login, a message ‘login failed’ is displayed, which isn’t surprising since I haven’t entered any credentials. I have also installed tailscale on my android phone, created an account and added the phone to my account. On my PC the screen Tailscale shows my phone and is waiting for a second device. Have I skipped something or done something wrong? Any guidance is appreciated.
I got it working. I referenced: Home Assistant tailscale video. In the tailscale add-on page is a heading ‘log’ in the top right. That is the log file mentioned in the video. As mentioned in this video, find ‘To authenticate’ in the log, copy the URL and paste it into a browser. Follow the video instructions from there.
