Problems updating Core to anything past 2026.3.4

I appear to be stuck at core version 2026.3.4. Running OS 17.3 Supervised and had been intentionally ignoring core update reminders because . . .

‘it ain’t broke . . .’.

I then succumbed to a reminder to update OS 17.3 to 18, which I did to 18.1.

And then, well, let’s update Core to 2026.7.3 as it politely suggests.

That update failed and resulted in a roll back to 2026.3.4.

I tried a CLI update to Core 2026.4.3 (the next logical rev).

That update failed and rolled back to 2026.3.4.

I rolled back the OS to 17.3 and repeated the above Core updates.

No joy.

Barring a clean install and hoping for the best (and all the time involved . . .), what is one to do?

Running Supervised Hassio OS on an OMV KVM instance, OMV running all latest Debian and Docker updates. Been rock solid for years . . . .

I have Supervisor logs of the events following an update request leading to the subsequent Roll-Back event, as well as Core logs of the corresponding time period. Nothing jumps out at me.

I will proceed to fire up another KVM instance with a fresh install using my backup, but wondered if there were any other words of wisdom . . .

T.

btw, how do I attach snippets of .log files from Notepad++ with all the funky ESC characters ?

you could try bringing it up in increments slowly with ssh

ha os update --version 18.0
ha core update --version 2026.4.0

simulating what the rest of us went through over time

I have done that, running the CLI through SSH. I went to 2026.4x from 2026.3x. It always rolls back to 2026.3

Those core errors are unrelated fyi. Just normal template errors

I understand that. I was merely showing what the core did at the time that Supervisor called for the Rollback, ie.

s6-rc: info: service legacy-services: stopping

BTW, s6-rc: info: messages never show time stamps. This is normal?

Thanks.

What is your server hardware?

It is a Lenovo ThinkCentre 2 core I5 with 8gb ram.
