Problems with tuya Motion Sensor and tuya Humidity Sensor

I got a tuya ZigBee Mini motion sensor ZMS-102 and a tuya ZigBee Temperature & Humidity Sensor WSD500A.

Both connected smoothly to my HA and now show up in the Zigbee2MQTT list of devices.

In the HA dashboard the T&H sensor shows a temperature 3 degrees too high and an untrue low humidity value. The values haven’t changed since I installed the device yesterday.

For the motion sensor I set up an automation, so a light gets turned on when motion is detected. It never worked.

Ok, both devices were from AliExpress and cheap.
Anything I might have missed, anything I could try before dumping them?

Problem with the T&H sensor solved. It was just a poor connection/low LQI.
It now reports values periodically and the values seem to be quite accurate.

  • Maybe show your automation
  • in the Zigbee2MQTT web-UI, do you see motion events ?

Francis, thanks for your answer.

Meanwhile I had the tuya mini motion sensor deleted and registered to Alexa (Echo 4 with Zigbee Hub). It was recognized, I created a routine that was supposed to run when motion is detected, but it wouldn’t work.

Deleted from Alexa, re-registering to HA. I noticed a low lqi level, so brought it closer to the Raspi. Now it is working.

So the Zigbee range of those cheap tuya devices seems to be as low as the price.

One question left: It seems that “keep time” and “sensitivity” of the sensor is adjustable, but I don’t succeed to change the values. Is there a trick?
| Update: It has accepted the changed values now. Looks, there is some delay…?

|| Update: After realizing the low range, I connected the motion sensor again with my Echo 4. It is working now with Alexa, as long as the sensor is within 5 m away from the Echo 4. Drawback with Alexa: you cannot adhust keep time and sensitivity and a low battery is also not reported.
