Proxmox v Incus

FWIW I started with two nodes, PVE and PBS and set up HAOS on the first using a script from https://community-scripts.org, which I learned today now supports both Proxmox and the fully independent Incus (an alternative to Proxmox).

Incus does pretty much the same job with some key differences in how (eg load balancing is automatic and built in, and you don’t need a separate backup because a distributed database keeps a full copy of all containers on every node). Incus is more hacker nerdy, whereas Proxmox has a better and more comprehensive web UI.

I like the idea of hacker nerdy, and fully distributed, but will stick with Proxmox unless they do a bait and switch, go GenAI etc, but am interested in experiences of others.

Anyone used Incus? Or both? I’d love to hear your experiences.
