This is a known limitation with the “remote play protocol” not something that can be fixed by another party other than Sony themselves.
Does this still not work to show what game you’re playing?
Also, it just says idle. It won’t even say if I’m online or not. I’ve configured as shown and everything is public.

[/quote]ok, so this simply doesn’t work. Thanks for the clarification.
OK so I tried this and ultimately, when connecting, on the PS5 screen it says failed and shows this message:
At the same time, I‘m able to pair other devices no problem.
Yeah, this doesn’t work for anything beyond power. Which is great, but disappointing.
Use this… it’ll show you everything it’s great GitHub - JackJPowell/hass-psn: Home Assistant integration for the Playstation Network
Did you setup the npsso as mentioned in the docs?
Edit: when configured properly, it works perfectly fine.
Looking at the docs though, I feel like they could be a bit better at guiding, mostly first time users, in setting up the add-on properly. And also how to make sure it keeps working. I’ll try and make some changes to them when I find a bit of time. (Which is hard with three young kids and a busy Job) Any help would be appreciated!
Where do you add this npsso? Do you have to go into the ymal editor?
I don’t really get what it is supposed to look like since everywhere it is blurred (understandably). I’ve tried several different ways in the YAML but when I save it just removes the npsso entirely.
Hi, I’m relatively new here. I found your PS5 MQTT and am excited about the idea. Unfortunately, it’s not working for me. I was able to log in successfully to the WebUI and establish the connection. Now I wanted to add it to my configuration.yaml (see screenshot). My goal is also to have the PS5 appear in Apple Home, for which I’m using HomeKit Bridge. Is my configuration.yaml correct? Or have I overlooked something?
Thanks first of all to the creator. I would also like to add my ps4/ps5 to my home assistant. I only use my consoles offline for a reason. Would it still be possible to integrate them into my Home Assistant?
Wouldn’t this make more sense as an integration rather than as an add-on?
It was just released as an official integration today.
not the same thing the official integration only pulls NPSSO data from your psn account doesn’t put the console to sleep, wake it up, or report the console status
Hello I am also using docker with portainer to configure this the ps5 Addon. I dont know exactly what to do. I get an error and dont know how to configure all this stuff. I am a Rookie.
can you help me.
Did you fix this? I have the same issue. Thx

I just get this in the log, I have not configured anything in the configuration tab as I simply want power control. I am not interested in the PSN connectivity.
I have MQTT setup, been using it for years. Any suggestions?
I’ve created a companion app for this great plugin.
It’s mainly aimed at parents who want to be able to automate time limits on PS5 use by their kids
Enjoy!
Thanks for all your work on this integration.
I’m having issues with the activeapp_title and activeapp_image entities. They were working normally, and then they stopped. I assumed it was because the NPSSO expired. So, I got a new one (manually) and tried that. But, it no longer works. Currently, I only have the power and activity entities.
This is what I’ve tried so far:
- Uninstalled the PS5 addon.
- Uninstalled the MQTT ps5 entity from the MQTT integration
- Deleted the MQTT instance in MQTT explorer
- Reinstalled the ps5 addon, including the psn_accounts with new NPSSO.
- Reauthenticated with a new redirect url and PIN Code.
I’m at a loss. Any suggestions?
Getting this issue while the PS5 is in rest mode.
This only happens when console is put on rest mode.
It’s show on when console is in use so complaints there
Tried reconfiguring and reinstalling PS5 MQTT add-on multiple times
How to get it working properly
I can provide other info/log if it helps
Thank you for this awesome addon:)
