Dears,
I have been using the energy dashboard of home assistant since its introduction, paired with a shelly em to monitor the overall intake of electricity.
As I am evaluating to install solar panels and maybe a battery I would like to play with the historical data a bit to see which capacity would work for me.
My idea would be to query HA to:
- get the amount of KWh used per day in a specific time frame (i.e. peak hours, or working hours, when I would tipically not be home)
- cross correlate it with the potential generation of a solar installation (based on historical weather data)
- see what percentage of my consumption would have been covered by a solar installation OR how much energy I would not have used (and could have put into a battery).
I know that having a solar installation and battery would likely force us to change our habits, but this will take time, and in the meantime I would like to assess the impact on my family current usage.
Does anyone know how to make more sophisticated queries on the energy measurements?
(or any feedback on the kind of calculation I am trying to make)
thanks!
