Querying HVAC Mode on Nest in automation

Hi,

I have automations that set the temp at certain times of the day. I want to query the HVAC mode and set it to one temp depending on mode. I want something to the effect: IF HVAC-MODE = heat then set temp to 68. I found some code but it didn’t seem to work. I pasted stuff into the File editor version of the automations, and the code gets stripped out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get something like this done?
