Question about dockers

hey all

im quite new to home assistant and have recently migrated from home assistant green to a minipc and have recently been looking at facial recognition using frigate and deepstack(/double take) but i have found out it needs to be installed in a docker, i am not the most knowledgeable and have been running home assistant os and i dont belive i plan to move to a docker anytime soon since that seems quite over me but i have a question.

is it possible to set up a docker on a 2nd mini pc and set up the deepstack facial / object recognition and point it at my home assistant os? or is it recomended to install home assistant on the docker to get deepstack working? like i said im quite new and am not the smartest so i dont understand much about docker or much beyond the homeassistant os
any help/advice is appreciated

You can install Double Take as an add-on. You just need to add the repository.

  1. Go to the Add-Ons menu.
  2. Click “Add-on Store” in the bottom right.
  3. Click the kebab icon (three vertical dots) in the top left.
  4. Paste the repo in and click add

Here’s the repo url: https://github.com/jakowenko/double-take-hassio-addons

ah i did find out there was an addon but i assumed it still needed deepstack to run properly

i gave it a shot to get it running but it doesn’t seem to connect with frigate or deep stack?

edit: i got deepstack working but not frigate i thought it was the port (as was the issue with deepstack) but whatever i do t wont connect?
