Question for Ecobee thermostat users

Hi Folks-

TL;DR - I’ll also put the question first: Do the Ecobee thermostats in home assistant support something similar to the “target_temp_low” and “target_temp_high” that nest has?

I’ve currently got two Nest thermostats, but with the recent EOL of connectivity for the gen 2 thermostats I’m considering moving to ecobee and I have a pretty specific question for ecobee users. I imagine that I’d be using the HomeKit integration for ecobee.

I’m using HA-dashboard (my dashboards are in a GH repo) for control throughout my house. I use a custom nest widget that allows me to temporarily adjust the set point for either cool or heat (by “temporarily”, I simply mean it will get reset whenever it hits the next schedule point). It’s not overly elegant but it works

I know that the scheduling for Ecobee t-stats is very different, but it does still have the auto heat/cool variant that nest has.

My question is:

Do the Ecobee thermostats in home assistant support something similar to the “target_temp_low” and “target_temp_high” that nest has?

Thanks,

-jamie

Yes the Ecobee supports heat / cool (auto) mode. If you change a setting it either reverts to the programmed temperature at the next schedule change, or keeps the new value until manually changed. There is a setting for resume schedule or manual changes.

Thanks, that’s exactly the info I was looking for!
