Questions about zwave regions

Im looking to purchase some zwave devices to , only living in Vietnam , i have no idea of the device region specification i would receive.
Apparently Vietnam uses AS/NZS 4268 919.8 MHz, 921.4 MHz , so i imagine id have to ensure all my equipment is using this specific hardware?

Also, finding leading brand devices here is a changeling and i just may end up with devices from different regions, ive no experience with zwave is the specification/frequency configurable on the hardware?

Any advice in my situation is appreciated

Well, you should stick with the frequency assigned to your country. Zwave devices do not only receive, but also transmit on that frequency. Transmitting on a different frequency may get you in trouble, sending radio-waves on a frequency prohibited in your country.
Also, your Zwave coordinator can only serve one frequency at a time. There is no way to use more frequencies at the same time.

Thanks for the quick reply, so i now have learned hardware isn’t configurable and only to one only able to serve one frequency…

im all for following the rules, im anal like that, but unfortunately i havnt even yet found a vendor that will sell a zwave interface that HA hardware has approved…
if i can then great, not sure what movies your watching but no one here is going to jail over it…

:joy:

Well, I did not say, you can’t :stuck_out_tongue:

No nobody is likely getting jail…

However, I have totally seen someone get fined $500 usd for it

EU ZWave is in US public safely bands.

I did spend 3 nights at a police station, as a radio amateur sending my music out on a frequency I did not know was closed to public

why do i not believe you…

well i cant tell if you guys are intentionally trying to be obtuse warning me that transmitting 20db at 919.8 MHz, 921.4 MHz rather what the neighboring country at 920.9 MHz, 921.7MHz is going to be an actual problem… but i am genuinely curious if anyone out there has solved the problem of finding compatible zwave devices in vietnam

Can’t help you with that, sorry. The only Vietnamese people I know, are my neighbors in Czechia.
