QuietCool Wireless RF Controller

Hi all,

I am getting a QuietCool installed soon and they will be adding an RF controller to control via a wall switch (https://quietcoolsystems.com/accessories/controls/). My understanding is that since it’s just a plain RF controller, I should be able to get an RF transmitter to connect and control via HA. Is this right and what would you recommend getting to set this up?

Thanks!

According to this:

" Several carrier frequencies are commonly used in commercially available RF modules, including those in the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands such as 433.92 MHz, 915 MHz, and 2400 MHz. These frequencies are used because of national and international regulations governing the used of radio for communication. Short Range Devices may also use frequencies available for unlicensed such as 315 MHz and 868 MHz."

it is important to know, which frequency band is used.
I did Google a little about this, but no any result for this device talking about that.

As I don’t want to assume…

The manual states “Frequency: 60Hz”. Does that seem right?

That’s the alternating current frequency of the powerline, the fan runs at. Not the RF radio frequency for the remote.

FCC filing looks to show 433.92 MHz assuming it’s the right device

If that is correct, you could try with a Sonoff 433 RF bridge. That will be a cheap way, if you get it working…

Curious if you got this working? Ours was installed this morning with the RF controller, I can’t help but want to integrate with HA . Ordered the RF bridge today.

The Sonoff 433 RF bridge works with HA here flawlessly. But i can’t say anything about the QuietCool stuff, as i don’t have any. But all 433 sensors and switches i have do work.

I attempted this with the Sonoff 433 RF bridge. It didn’t work unfortunately even with Tasmota flashed.

I also tried a Bond bridge, but it’s unsupported as well.

I’ve gone to a more rudimentary approach which is still in progress. In essence it involves a SwitchBot pushing the button which will be controlled via a Raspberry Pi running bluetooth. My HA install is on a VM with no bluetooth, but you can bypass this to integrate directly to HA with SwitchBot. This isn’t ideal, but nothing I’ve seen supports the RF frequency correctly
