Random entities have disappeared

Hi.

I’m running Tasmota 8.5.1 on about 30 devices connected via MQTT to the latest Home Assistant (at time of writing).

A few days ago a random selection of entities - 3 of 4 bulbs in one room, a couple of sockets, etc. - disappeared. There doesn’t seem to be any commonality between the ones affected: ones with the same brands, types, etc. all still work OK.

What I’ve tried to fix things:

  • Restart HA.
  • Restart router
  • Remove any recent config changes (I added some sensors and an LG TV).
  • Sent SetOption19 0 then SetOption19 1 to all devices via TamoAdmin. This causes the missing devices to reappear - but they show as unavailable and soon they disappear again.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks!

I can only think of connectivity issues causing the mqtt to time out (not retained). But since I am not expert at all you may see this as just 2 cents .

Glad to find this topic, as the same thing drives me crazy.

I´m running 0.117.6 and have Tasmota 8.5.1 on 4 of 5 devices. Over the time of a few days all with 8.5.1 disappeared.
The devices are still available via their web interface and in MQTT (version 5.1) add-on log i can see, that all5 devices are connected (New client connected from 192.168.178.96 …).
I tried reboot, etc. still the same.
This happend after I installed the new Tasmota add-on. But I deleted this too.

Any Idea?

A miracle. After editing the tasmota device and using the domain name instead of the IP they are back.

I had problems wit NetworkManager too and had to prevent the randomized MAC address, which leads to changing IP of the home assistant, but I don´t believe this was the issue.
I reinstalled and deleted the Tasmota integration. Maybe that was something …

Lets see, if the Tasmota devices stay now.

Sorry for not coming back to you sooner. Yes this also happened to me when I installed the new Tasmota add-on in parallel with the existing MQTT one. I think it was something to do with the two integrations fighting for the devices or zombie device names or something like that. Anyway I never resolved it and just moved fully to the new Tasmota integration and removed MQTT. So more of a workaround but things work for me too now.
