My kids’ school uses IServ, a school platform common in Germany. I got tired of the website, so I built Ranzenpost: an add-on and integration that brings the timetable with substitutions, parent letters, the noticeboard, absences and chat into Home Assistant.
- App in the sidebar, dashboard card, one device per child
- Calendars, sensors and device triggers such as “lesson cancelled” or “new letter”
- Runs locally, no cloud, logins encrypted
IServ is set up differently at every school, and so far it has only been tested at a few. If your kids’ school uses IServ, I’d be glad if you tried it and told me what works. The app has a report button that removes names before you share anything.
