Raspi Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) on the cheap

Hi,

If you are interested in a UPS for small money for your Raspi, here is the list:

The cable must then be soldered to the UPS. The finished work should be connected between the power supply and the Raspberry.

After the power cut this week, I finally finished my project.

9800mAh batteries at 1eur. Wow!
I definitely wouldn’t use one inside my house…

They are actually (only) 0089mAh and therfor quite safe :put_litter_in_its_place:

At least the flames are noticeably smaller.

Feel free to buy batteries from brands you trust more.

This isn’t about those batteries (doesn’t help that the battery link is first). It’s about the device.

I have one of those, too, although I use it for something else. My smart heating valve motors use 2 AA cells, but I’m fed up with having to change those all the time. Even once per year becomes a chore when you have one in each and every room. There are dummy replacements for AA cells that you can power from an USB power supply, but those valve motors need a button push after inserting the batteries (or after a power cut, with those adapters). This little cheap micro UPS solves that issue easily.

PS: Also, I get those batteries listed for 10,63€. On a cosmic scale that is approximately 1 Euro, sure…but it also is a bit on the expensive side.

The price of anything on Ali depends on the shipping destination. Please understand the links as examples. Nevertheless, should I delete it since my post seems to have been met with more disapproval than approval?

Yep, I do.
Unfortunately I’m limited to get only <3600mAh ones and they even cost a lot. Damn!

I wouldn’t go that far. Just drop the links to the batteries (those are trivial to source anyway) and put an image of the device top and centre.

It is one of the few micro UPSs that actually have a sensible price point. There are some in the $40 dollar range, but that’s often excessive and most of those only have a 12V output.
