I have been running HAOS on a Rasp Pi 4 for a couple of months. I regularly perform full backups. Two weekends ago I did a HA OS Core update and the system crashed on reboot. Stops at the color spectrum screen.
I was able to find a backup file from two days prior to the update/crash. File title is [Automatic_backup_2026.2.1_2026-02-12_04.59_54005675.tar].
I have flashed a fresh SD card and got the same Pi up and running with a base HA OS without restoring from backup but am obviously missing a ton of stuff.
I then flashed another fresh SD card and am now trying to restore from backup during the setup phase using the “Upload Backup” option in the HA web interface. When I attempt to upload the file mentioned above, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.
I still have the original drive that is still crashing on boot. I have the TAR mentioned above that is still giving a 500 Error.
I feel like this should be a pretty simple thing but it just isn’t registering the backup file as a backup file. Does anybody have any thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?
Thank you for any assistance.
