Doesn’t work with Security 3.0 openers.
You asked about 2.0
In the case of those I would simply avoid them. There are still many 2.0 available.
When 2.0 runs out just remove board from 3.0 and modify board or add parts to make work.
If building board for single unit it may not be too hard. Problem is multiple units may have different requirements (power, control, connections) so it’s not easy to make some common replacement part. It would be easier to build an opener and sell complete unit maybe or some diy kit that uses common easily sourced parts but in that case it’s easier to just find 2.0 opener and use esp or Ratgdo.
I had the same thought, though as it was mentioned, likely different motors and models could all have slighly different requirements which could make creating a custom board difficult (in that it would have to be configurable to support various different brands/models). I’d also suspect that battery backup being more and more common adds a saftey concern in that there could be all sorts of charging capacity differences and such that could also need to be accounted for.
All that aside though and I could totally see that being the way for the future. If Security 3.0 isn’t “hackable”, just replace the board. You’d obviously void the warranty entirely, but I don’t think the companies are allowed to prevent us from doing this if we wanted to, so it could end up being our only option unless some companies decide that catering to the DIY home automation community will actually get them enough business to make it worth while creating a GDO that we can integrate natively.
Also assuming that some folks in the community even want to tackle creating a custom board for a GDO - I can’t assume it being something “simple”.
The lock remotes feature works great for the standard 891LM and 893LM type of remotes, and the remote built into my care. But it doesn't seem to disable my 940EV style wireless keypad. Is that expected?
I just bought and installed the disco this month. Working really well - this thing is great!
One installation note in case anyone else has this problem. Sorry if this is a repeat, but I didn’t see it mentioned when searching. When I first set it up, everything was working but the car sensor. It turns out that the old incandescent bulb in the opener light was interfering with it. I’m sure there are a lot of factors here like the positioning of the ratgdo in relation to the opener, the bulb used, etc., but as soon as I swapped that old bulb out for an LED bulb, the car sensor started working great.
And FYI, I also had problems with a generic LED bulb. I ended up buying a “Liftmaster” branded bulb and that resolved the issue.
What problems are the bulbs causing
WiFi connection?
Esp device issues?
What be helpful to others to know what may occur and also to consider other mitigations
I think it’s a reasonably common issue. When I replaced my bulb and I could no longer operate the garage from my car I did a google search and found a number ot posts about it. Here’s a few:

Are you saying mmwave for car sensor was blocked by RF noise from bulb?
In my case, with the incandescent bulb, the car presence sensor on the disco was just not recognizing my car was there at all if the light was on. As soon as the garage light turned off, then the sensor worked fine and showed the presence of my car. All other functions of the ratgdo were working great with the old bulb, whether the light was on or off. As soon as I replaced the bulb with an LED, the car presence sensor started also working when the light was on.
